Day 22 So what's on your fridge?

This photo is inspired (read copied) by my friend Tania's photo blog Three Hundred & Sixty five days,  from a few days ago. I thought I would show mine which is very boring and messy in comparison. Tania's is clean and has lovely things on it - mine has notices, lists,  old photos, funny and weird magnets (including handmade bead ones & that shark that my sons made about 5 years ago). I think hers is much more classy... what do you think?

Day 21 Red eggs

I know that Easter has been and gone but these little roma tomatoes look just like beautiful red eggs (probably why they are referred to as egg tomatoes sometimes)
I think they look delicious maybe even too good to eat. But I am afraid that come tomorrow morning they will be sliced and added to someones wrap for lunch. Or possiblly knowing my son just get eaten like an apple before then!

Day 20 I can't stand the rain against my window...

I have had this song in my head all day now, hopefully you won't! But if so we can hum along together...
Raining here in Melbourne now,  for what seems like days & days (actually it has been days and days!) but it is lovely and everything is now so green and fresh looking and as everyone says when we discuss the weather here "we need the rain".
I can't stand the rain
against my window
bringing back sweet memories
I can't stand the rain
against my window
'cause he ain't hearing me
Hey, window pane
tell me do you remember
how sweet it used to be

Day 19 Almost 68...and still twittering

I'm a big fan of Bob Dylan & check out a couple of fan sites most days. I took this photo while sitting at my desk, of the official Bob Dylan site. Bob Dylan is 68 years old this year & while I was reading on his official site about the release of his new album Together through life (his 33rd studio album) I noticed that you can now also follow Bob on twitter.  I don't twitter but I think this is wonderful and it does not surprise me as he has had some very clever online marketing of this and previous albums. Create a lyrical portrait based on his song Beyond here lies nothin & send to a friend from this album and from his album DYLAN create & send a message using the classic Subterranean Homesick Blues video from the Don't Look Back documentary

Day 18 déjà vu . .

For anyone who is following my friend Tania's photo blog Three Hundred & sixty five photos this photo will probably feel like deja vu. This is the cake (well not the exact cake) that Tania made for my birthday a few weeks back which she photographed and put in her photo blog. It was delicious! Yesterday my husband's parents visited for morning tea so I whipped up this cake (mine has cherries instead of raspberries) & it was delicious as well and enjoyed by everyone! I could not resist a photo. Thanks Tania for a great recipe!

Day 17 A lovely surprise!

When we returned home late last night from the city I found these at my doorstep. The flowers were sent from my workplace as I have had a carpel tunnel release operation on my right wrist and they were a lovely surprise and lifted my spirits.

Day 16 Getting there

We are in the very last stages of getting the exterior of our house painted and we will be very relieved once it is all done with!

Day 15 Grape vines unvieled

The is a small vineyard at my son's school and I took this photo today. The vines have been covered for sometime now but you can still see that Autumn has arrived.

Day 14 Chasing the sun...

I picked my son up from the train tonight and on the way home as I looked in my rear vision mirror I saw a beautiful blazing orange  sun getting ready to set. I thought this will be a great photo for my blog & thought I would have time but unfortunately 4 minutes later when we arrived home this was all that was left!

Day 13 Going home...

Driving up our street always makes me feel like I am somewhere else and wonder where I might end up... it is unlike any other suburban street.

Day 12 Tiny treasures

Two small plates that I think are lovely that I bought back with me from Tasmania to treasure.

Day 11 Music to my ears

It was nice to hear music being played again in the house as we had not heard it since we had been away and you don't realise how much you miss it until you return. I think my son was happy to be able to play his guitar again as well.

Day 10 Up up and away

Goodbye Tassie - view as we took off from Launceston and just leaving land

Day 9 Sell sell sell...

We held a garage sale at my Aunties house on Friday and Saturday and this is one room ready to go..... we sold lots which always surprises me!

Day 8 Demolition Derby...

We removed the kitchen in my aunties place ready for a new one - not a nice job. My brother had to end up grinding the heads off the large screws to remove the overheads as they would not budge. The kitchen would have been over 50 years old but badly dilapidated.

Day 7 It's been a long day...

Still in Tassie and we have all been at my aunties house from early in the morning working to clear everything out and it is now time to go home.

Day 6 Back on the farm

We stayed with my brother on our family farm and I took a photo of the mountain range - The Dial Range, that I grew up seeing everyday. As we drive towards the farm you can see The Dial from some distance and time before you actually arrive there and it always stirs fond memories as you get closer and closer.

Day 5 Oldest and dearest friends...

While home in Tassie we enjoyed a beautiful lunch in the sunshine with my oldest and dearest friend from school but I forgot to take a photo of us. But my boys took some photos in the garden and this is one of them.

Day 4 Landing...

About to touch down in Tasmania. (which is why my posts are sooo late - too busy to post) I went home to help my brother and sisters and their families move our Auntie to a nursing home, always a difficult thing to do.

Day 3 London "cherry" trees

Our London Plane trees lost their leaves long ago during the severe heatwave in Victoria in Januray/February 2009 (and we lost our shade) and so even though it is now Autumn there are not many leaves left to drop. But the trees seed pods are still there hanging like bunches of cherries

Day 2 : Dirty mechanics...

The dirty mechanic is actually my husband who spent this morning changing the alternator in his car. It has taken him longer than usual and he told me that he thinks he is "past it". It's been awhile since he has done any home mechanics and so this time around it took so much longer because as he says " there is so much I can't remember how  to do". Growing up and even when we first met he use to do all the repairs etc on the cars. Now the cars are too complicated for most home mechanics and so repair jobs are few and far between. So this picture is probably something we will not see again in our household!

Day 1 : Where to begin...

The first day of course seems overwhelming so I asked my boys instead - what will I take a photo of? I was told take a photo of the teapots  which just means they could not think of anything either! I do not collect teapots but I do have a few that I have been given or bought over the years. I don't drink tea very often at all but if I do I will make a pot of tea rather than a tea bag. As you can see if you look very closely at this photo these teapots are lovingly looked after and dusted everyday!
